Ashley was born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana and graduated in 2000 from Ecole Classique. After high school, Ashley ventured away from New Orleans and moved to Oxford, Mississippi where she attended Ole Miss. While a student at Ole Miss, Ashley was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the American Marketing Association, Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and the Ole Miss Ambassadors. After four years of football games in the grove, Ashley was sad to say “goodbye” to the quaint small town of Oxford as she graduated from Ole Miss with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing and moved to Jackson, Mississippi where she attended law school at Mississippi College School of Law.
During her law school tenure, Ashley was a fellow in the Admissions Office and very involved in the extra-curricular aspects of law school, serving as the Executive Director of Students Tutoring Assisting and Recruiting (S.T.A.R.) Program, the Coordinator of Madison County Teen Court, a member of Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity and a member of the Women’s Student Bar Association. While a law student, Ashley gained hands-on experience in the area of family law when clerking for M. Craig Robertson, who built an extremely successful boutique family law firm in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Ashley graduated from law school in May 2007 and accepted an associate position working for M. Craig Robertson. Ashley also worked part-time as the public defender for the City of Pearl, Mississippi in both the adult and youth courts.
Ashley met her husband, Patrick, in law school and they were engaged in April 2007 during their last semester of law school. Ashley and Patrick were married in June 2008 in New Orleans, Louisiana and it did not take long for that New Orleans girl to convince her Georgia-born husband to move to her hometown of New Orleans. Although sad to leave her associate position in Mississippi, Ashley relocated to New Orleans in April 2009 and walked away with an incredible amount of gainful knowledge and experience from her mentor, M. Craig Robertson.
Upon moving back home, Ashley accepted an associate position with Schafer & Schafer before joining the law firm of Salley & Salley in February 2010. Ashley and Patrick were ecstatic to welcome their son, John Patrick, to the world on September 23, 2010 and their daughter, Julie Ann, on December 19, 2014. Since her graduation from law school, Ashley has been incredibly fortunate to work for such amazing attorneys throughout her legal career, and after much contemplation and planning, in April 2011, Ashley announced the opening of her own law firm, Ashley Buckman Schepens, L.L.C. and has hit the ground running ever since.
Ashley and her husband, Patrick, reside in Metairie with their children, John and Julie. Patrick is also an attorney and practices in the field of insurance defense in Mandeville. Ashley and Patrick are members of St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church. Ashley is a member of the Executive Co-Op Board for St. Clement of Rome Catholic School, the New Orleans Kappa Alpha Theta Alumnae and an active volunteer and fundraiser for The Foundation at East Jefferson General Hospital.
